Oh, Okay. You Can Have Your Bus Back...

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I can't help agreeing with whoever posted on the story's page that the insurer missed a golden opportunity, here. The VO guy says, "In fairness, she did get paid for it..." Yeah, in the '80s. What did she have to pay to buy it back? The going price of something like that is ten times (or more) what it was thirty years ago. And she says she sent money to the guy in Germany. I'd say she's been robbed twice, but I'll admit it just may be worth that to have a family member back...

FaceBook Photo of One Sweet Ghia Mod

folksWerks is showing off some SUH-WEEET Karmann Ghia customization. Now, I don't mean to brag, but I had this idea a long time ago, and have even expressed it. If you've been on the CarToons page of wvvw-ut.com, you'll know what I'm talking about. Still, there's no cartoon that can compare with glass and steel, artfully crafted in this way. Well done, folksWerks! Well done!

High Time for Something to Do with Utah VWs

Doctor Dave goes web surfing for YOU! I got an e-mail from the Vintage German Motors proprietor a little while ago (last week, was it?), and since I am the consummate e-mail responding, on-top-of-things dude, I'm just now telling you about it. The link I got from Dave pointed to the discussion on the Kustom Coach Werks site about a downright interesting customization. It ain't pretty much, but I could sure use it on MY street.

Doctor Dave Surfs the Web for You

These guys know a good time! I love the comment someone makes after a complete transaxle change. "Just a little road-side maintenance."

Shasta Snow Trip #9, 2009 - Friday from Gene Cornelius on Vimeo.

A rollicking rampage by VW bus in the dust bowl of Northern California, February, 2009, during one of the driest and dustiest Snow Trips in the nine years since its inception.

Complimented by the song "Undertow", used by permission from the album "Alektorophobia" by Eric McFadden & Wally Ingram. The edits were not necessarily authorized, however ...

Many thanks to the Newts who put up with my continuing efforts to obtain the footage of the Trip, as well as those who took on the pain and responsibility of the POV-cam!

Cool Video

Dave Gilchrist spotted this video of a whacky Type II customization on YouTube. Enjoy!
